Veganism is a philosophy and lifestyle that seeks to exclude the use of animals for food, clothing, or any other purpose. Vegans do not use or consume animal products of any kind. The most common reasons for becoming a vegan are ethical commitment or moral convictions concerning animal rights, the environment, human health, and spiritual or religious concerns.

Vegan Outreach is working to expose and end cruelty to animals through the widespread distribution of its illustrated booklets. It was actually one of these booklets that helped me make the transition to vegetarianism initially and now veganism. I picked one of these up at a local restaurant, and when I saw the pictures of the poor farm animals in such horrible conditions, I was a changed woman! You can download the PDFs here.
