Hi there! I am a 28 year old vegan who is passionate about animal rights and animal protection issues. I grew up on a wheat farm in North Dakota and now live in Minnesota.
This blog will be a forum for discussing the devastating impacts of factory farming–on the animals it exploits, the people who consume those animals, and the environment in which we live. Farmed animals are sentient, complex creatures with their own desires, needs, and natural behaviors. Just like the cats and dogs we call pets, farmed animals are capable of feeling pain and frustration, happiness and love, and it is my firm belief that they too deserve our compassion and respect.
While the focus will be primarily on farmed animals (as well as my experience with veganism), I’ll also write about companion animals, wildlife, and basically any other kind of critter you can think of–that includes humans (we’re animals too, after all).
I welcome comments regardless of your viewpoint. Having people challenge my opinions either helps to make them stronger or forces me to rethink them, both of which I appreciate. My only rule is that regardless of your viewpoint, please be respectful. If you have a solid opinion, you should be able to articulate it without name calling or profanity.Β I will delete all comments that do not comply.Β Now that that’s established, comment away!

Hi there,
Thanks for leaving comments on our blog! Much appreciated. I like your stuff, have just been reading through. OK if I add you to our blog roll? (The Suit will just have to suffer!)
Regards,
The Hippy.
Of course, I’d be honored! I love the whole idea of your blog…even though something tells me I won’t be agreeing with “The Suit” too often. π Keep holding your own!!!
I absolutely love your blog!
Dugg (on digg.com) for it’s fantastic content!

I’d like to belatedly thank you for leaving a comment on our blog and adding us to your blogroll.
I just found out, via <a href=”Thanking the Monkey” (I’ve been reading it before I give it out to non-vegan friends to borrow) that Fiona Apple is vegan, not just vegetarian like I thought at first.
Thought I would pass on the better news, and let you know we’ve now got our own domain at veganalternativeperth.com
Leaving the possibility for alternative vegans in other cities to create sister projects perhaps? LOL
Seriously, keep up your good work! π
Michiko280 – Thanks!!!
Danmoo – I love your blog too!
i can’t say enough about this site. it’s really great. presented perfectly, i think. EXTREMELY INFORMATIVE. ENCYCLOPEDIC AS WELL. also, a simplicity in the exploring. too many things these days are unnecessarily complicated.
for me, the entire issue of animal rights is a simple one.
to kill a living being, human or animal, is wrong.
this is how i approach the issue. from a moral, personal and intellectual perspective. i’m also just a friend to animals.
i’ll be exploring your site more. thanks.
BSHARK – Thank you so much for the kind words, I hope you continue to get something out of Creature Talk. Totally agree with you on your animal rights stance – obviously. π
Welcome!
Have you read The World Peace Diet by Will Tuttle? Great blog you have here, thanks for all the info! π
